What is Prism Journal?
Prism is an AI journaling app that reads your entries the way a psychotherapist would — uncovering patterns, emotions, and insights hidden in your writing. Created by a practising psychotherapist in Bangalore, built on psychology and research-backed frameworks. No jargon. No diagnosis. Just clarity.
Who built Prism?
Prism was created by a practising psychotherapist in Bangalore, built on psychology and research-backed frameworks. No jargon, no diagnosis — just honest, thoughtful reflection.
Is Prism a therapy app?
No. Prism is a self-reflection tool — not therapy, and not a substitute for it. It won't diagnose you, assess you, or categorise you with any condition. It doesn't replace a therapist. If you're experiencing significant distress, a qualified mental health professional is always the right choice. If you're already in therapy, Prism is a useful space to process between sessions.
Do I need journaling experience?
Not at all. Prism works for first-time journalers and experienced writers equally. If you've never journaled before, it's a gentle place to start. If you have, it adds a layer of analysis your notebook can't.
Morning Pages vs Journal Entry — what's the difference?
Morning Pages is stream of consciousness — no stopping, no editing, just write. 5 minutes recommended. Journal Entry is more intentional — choose a category and write freely or pick a suggested prompt. Both count toward your Reflect.
How long should my entries be?
No minimum, no maximum. One paragraph or ten pages — Prism works with what you give it. The more you write, the richer the patterns it can find.
Do I have to write every day?
No. Write when it feels right. Consistency helps over time — even a few times a week surfaces patterns that occasional writing can't. Your streak is tracked on the dashboard, not to create pressure, but to give you a gentle sense of momentum.
What is a Reflection Response?
Your Reflect ends with questions worth sitting with. When you write your next entry in response to one of them, that's a Reflection Response — and it counts as a full entry toward your next Reflect. This is where the real work tends to happen.
How does Reflect work?
Tap Reflect on My Journey from your dashboard. Select 3–5 entries, choose your Reflect type and lenses, and Prism analyses across your writing. Takes 30–60 seconds — you can navigate away and come back.
What does a Full Reflect include?
A quick summary, then six dimensions of analysis — Emotions, Thoughts, Patterns, Metaphors, Relationship Threads, and Connections. Plus 2–3 evidence-based exercises matched to your entries, reflection questions to go deeper, perspectives from your chosen lenses, and a personal quote generated just for you.
Full Reflect vs Lens-Only — what's the difference?
Full Reflect is the complete experience — six-section analysis, exercises, questions, lens perspectives, and a personal quote. Lens-Only is for when you've already run a Full Reflect and want one specific angle, faster and more focused.
Why do I need 5 entries for my first Reflect?
Five entries gives Prism enough material to find real patterns — not just reflect today's mood. After your first Reflect, you'll need 3–5 each time. The more context it has, the richer the analysis.
Can I choose which entries go into my Reflect?
Yes. Prism pre-selects your most recent entries, but you can adjust. If an older entry feels relevant to what you're processing now, include it. Generally 3–5 entries produce the best results.
What are the 7 lenses?
Each lens is a psychological framework that reads your entries from a different angle — Compassionate, Critical Thinking, Brainstorming, Scholar, Goal Planning, Jung / Shadow, and Relationship. Choose 1–2 that feel relevant to what you're going through right now.
What is the Monthly Insights Report?
A deeper analysis generated on your subscription anniversary each month. Prism reads across all your entries and reflects back your emotional arc, recurring patterns, progress markers, and questions for the month ahead. Think of it as a letter from your past self to your present one.
Is Prism free?
You can start for free — unlimited entries and your first Full Reflect with one lens, no card required. After that, pay per use or subscribe monthly. The monthly plan includes 4 Full Reflects, 10 lens analyses, all 7 lenses, and a Monthly Insights Report.
Can I use Prism outside India?
Yes. Prism is available internationally. Indian users are billed in INR, international users in USD. Payments are processed securely via the website.
Are purchases refundable?
All purchases on Prism are non-refundable. Pay-per-use analyses are consumed at the point of generation and cannot be refunded. If your analysis failed to generate due to a technical error, contact support@prismjournal.in and we'll make it right.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, anytime. Cancelling stops your next billing cycle — you won't be charged again. Your access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a current billing cycle. To cancel, go to account settings or email support@prismjournal.in.
Is my journal private?
Yes. Your entries are private to you — we don't read them, and neither does anyone else. The only time your text leaves the app is to generate your Reflect. It is not stored on any AI cloud, not used to train models, and not retained after your analysis is complete. We don't sell your data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising.
What if I write something that sounds like a crisis?
Prism has a quiet safety layer on every Reflect, every tier. If your entries show signs of significant distress, crisis support resources are surfaced alongside your analysis. If you're in crisis now, please don't wait for an app.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. Delete individual entries anytime, or delete your entire account to permanently remove all your data. Account deletion cannot be undone — please be sure before you proceed.
How is Prism different from other AI tools?
Prism is built specifically for journaling and self-reflection. It reads across multiple entries to find patterns over time — not just respond to a single message. The AI follows a structured psychological approach, designed to observe and reflect, not advise or diagnose. A thinking tool, not a conversation partner.
Does Prism work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Available on both — App Store for iOS, Google Play for Android. Payments are made through the website.
